The Rowe Center
Founded in 1924, the Rowe Center is an unusual and magical place cherished by thousands of people who have come here for relaxation, education, community, and spiritual nurturance and love.
Featuring 20 buildings on 52 acres of woodlands and meadows, bordered by a scenic millpond and waterfall and the cascades of Pelham Brook, and by 1,400 acres of town forest on Mount Adams held forever wild, The Rowe Center is an ideal place to relax in a private retreat, to hike or snowshoe the mountain trails, to kayak on spectacular Pelham Lake, or to enjoy a workshop in a small, intimate forum.
Now celebrating 90 years of helping lives to flourish, Rowe’s workshops feature outstanding, nationally respected teachers -- in subjects of personal growth, the arts, spirituality, nature, and progressive social and political action – while its summer camps offer kids and adults opportunities for wonder, play, growth, reunions with old friends, and meetings with new ones.
Rowe’s philosophy arises from a deep faith in the fundamental goodness of human beings, the abiding miracle of life on earth, and the soul-sustaining beauty of creation. At Rowe this beauty is everywhere. And the magic is never far away. It’s just around the corner, just down the wooded path, in the radiant eyes of the person across from you at lunch, in the “aha!” of a sudden insight. This is the wonder of the ordinary miraculous, and it’s everywhere. We invite you to join us. Welcome home to Rowe.
